Vanishing America
2006
Photographer Michael Eastman has spent a lifetime traveling America taking pictures of a fading American past. For this monograph from Rizzoli, I was given discs full of his selects and no artistic or conceptual direction. After experimenting with several concepts, a simple theme based on the image contents emerged as the most suitable organization for his photographs. Michael trusted me with his life's work, and I felt a great deal of responsibility to him and his craft. This was the most fulfilling projects I have worked on.
